Why I'm Not Voting For Mayfield Today - And Response (2)

Re:  Roy Exum:  I'll Vote For Mayfield Today

As a young voter engaged in the political process, it is amazing to read Roy Exum’s reasoning for voting for Scottie Mayfield. What is interesting is that we hear leaders always complaining that young people are not involved in the political process. And then, when we get a sharp, mature young person who is willing to put himself on the front line, we dismiss him as too young. This seems a bit hypocritical to me, and this type of behavior that keeps young people from wanting to engage in politics.

Weston Wamp is ready to serve in Congress. It is the people’s House and there is a reason that the founders of our country set the age for service at 25. I guess Mr. Exum feels he knows better than the country’s founders.

I have watched Mr. Mayfield in this campaign, and all he has done is hide from voters. He blames everybody else for the country’s problems and vows to fight the Obama-Pelosi liberals when he gets to Washington. How is it that voters can believe he will do that when he is unwilling to step forward and debate his opponents?

We need someone in Washington who can be a voice to end the divisive politics that get nothing done. Rest assured, I will find every young person that I know and we will all vote for Weston.

The manner in which Roy Exum dismisses Weston Wamp as a candidate for Congress insults every young person who is a contributor to our country. People like me get up and go to work every day, we pay taxes, we defend our country on battlefield, we inspire businesses to think outside the box and we are responsible for bringing the next generation of Americans into the world. Why should we not have a young person represent us in Congress? It is what our country needs.

Weston Wamp will be an excellent member of Congress. He will spark a new debate about getting spending under control and beginning to pay off the national debt. Weston will not be a puppet for the Washington leaders who care more about the next election and sound bites in the media than they do about solving our long-term problems. As a young person, I know that my friends and I will be the ones who have to pay for the national debt. We know Medicare will be different for us. We know Social Security will be different for us.

What we want is someone who will go to Washington and be a voice for telling us what that future will look like. Weston Wamp will do that. Scottie Mayfield won’t.

Every other subject aside, I'll tell you why I choose not to vote for Mayfield.

He has chosen to not debate the other GOP candidates thus far, which translates to a real weakness in many voters eyes...a cowardice, if you will. That's not a good sign.
I connected with his campaign page on Facebook, and simply brought up the subject of debating in a post, saying that I thought not debating was a really bad idea, and could lose him support from many undecided voters like myself. The post was quickly deleted within a few hours. A couple days later, I again made the same post, deleted again with no response.
So, 2 unanswered emails and one more deleted post later...all very polite, just wanting some sort of info as to why he chose not to put himself out there...I made the decision to in no way, give him my support.

Why should I, he ignores folks...

Here's hoping that young Weston and his campaign staff has more tact and respect than that, 'cause Chuck is sure not getting my vote, as he has done little/nothing for the cause of Liberty and Constitutional government since being elected.

Roy Exum: Please Send Me Funny Jokes

It has been about 25 years or so since I had the opportunity to visit every county in the state of Tennessee and, as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society at the time, I met cancer survivors and listened to their incredible stories. I remember one man in particular who had bone cancer and one night he said he rolled over in bed and literally broke his arm in a very simple ... (click for more)

Questionable Moc Coaching Choices - And Response (2)

David Blackburn proved that he rolled an elder vice chancellor to hire Will Wade. I can't find one game Wade coached. Should we think he is a better coach than the Georgia coach that won the SEC? At least four jobs were open in and around Wade's hometown, Nashville. No one mentioned his name. While Blackburn was preaching in the Chattanoogan Room about the fairness of the ... Baylor Advances With 6-5 Thriller Over GPS In Softball

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The last time Baylor and GPS played softball here at the Starplex, it was about a year ago and the Division II state championship was on the line. Baylor ended up winning that game by a 6-3 final as they celebrated their second straight state title. A funny thing happened in softball this year.  For the first time ever, these two teams faced off ... (click for more)
