Bible Way Baptist Church in Rossville honored three of its members who are World War II veterans.

Baptist International Missions Military Director, Dr. Jim Kennard was on hand to present these three heroes with special framed certificates.

He said it was sad to hear that as BIMI is honoring WWII veterans around the country most veterans say "this is the first time they have ever been thanked or recognized for their service."  Dr. Kennard said Bible Way is extremely blessed to have three WW II Veterans in its congregation. He also said this is the first time they have honored three WW II Veterans that were members of the same church.

Organizers said, "It was a great time of celebration, with singing and preaching. A day we hope our young people will not forget, as they saw three of 'America's Greatest Generation' honored."

Those honored were:

Robert Paschal Eaton, 1st Lieutenant Army, Panama Canal, 1941-1945

Location Of The Delta Queen Is The Problem

The Delta Queen is a magnificent part of history and in many ways I'm pleased she is in town. Having the boat where she is is the problem. The boat blocks the view of and from the prettiest park in our town. The crew take many of the parking spots around the park leaving families to park across Frazier and schlep their kids, strollers and picnics to the park. You don't get fireworks ... (click for more)
