Mildred Mahaffey, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 following a brief illness.

A native of Chattanooga, Mrs. Mahaffey was born on July 12, 1926 to the late Harvey and Lillie Mae Evans Bedwell.  She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny James Mahaffey, daughters, Diane Mahaffey, Delores Williamson, and Joyce Roxberry, and brother, Earl Bedwell.

Survivors include her son, Richard Mahaffey; daughter, Wanda Wright; sister, Virginia Crumbley; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 15, at noon in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Randall Bowen officiating.  Burial will follow in the Chattanooga Memorial Park, Red Bank.  

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:  Randy and Chad Shadden, Paul and Teddy Mahaffey, Doyle and Adam Mahaffey.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 14, from 12-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.

Feds Dismiss Criminal Charges Against Rarity Developer Mike Ross
