Edward Paynter, 55, of Lafayette, GA, died Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Hutcheson Medical Center.
Edward was born September 1, 1956 in Rome, GA, a son of the late Willie and Rethlae Rodgers Paynter; and was also preceded in death by his brother, Silas Paynter.
Edward proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Darlene Busie Painter of the residence; son, Taylor Lamar Paynter of Lafayette; daughters and sons-in-law, Brandi and Tommy Woods of Trenton, Candi and Richard Bramblett, Jennifer Paynter of Lafayette; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Fowler, Marlene and Jackie McClure of Rome, Marsoonia and Charlie Beal of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Caelynne Woods and Xandria Paynter; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Edward Paynter will be held Tuesday July 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ben Bussie, Reverend Sean Landes and Reverend Donnie Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Paul Payner, Tony Gowens, Daniel Busie, Brad Shuler, Mike Bramblett, and David Busie serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Monday. Arrangements are by Ponders Melrose Chapel.
