County School Registration Day Is Aug. 7

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Aug. 7 is registration day for Hamilton County Schools.  For attendance purposes the State Department counts that date as the first attendance day and students should be registered.

The first full day of school is Monday, Aug. 13.  If a student is going to attend the county schools he or she should be in attendance that day.

If a student is transferring from another district, out-of-state, etc., they do not become active in the cxounty system until they are registered with the county schools.

Officials said, "Unfortunately, we also have some parents who do not send their students to school until after Labor Day" and that could involve unexcused absences.
