PEARL, MS-In Tuesday night's series finale at Trustmark Park, the Chattanooga Lookouts defeated the Mississippi Braves 10-3. The Lookouts took three of four from the M-Braves to claim the series victory.

The Lookouts trail Jackson by 1 1/2 games in the Southern League North Division race. 

Current Standings

Chattanooga (15-11) scored 10 runs on 13 hits while the Braves (9-16) plated three runs on eight hits. 

After a 22-minute rain delay, the Lookouts took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Rafael Ynoa singled, Nick Buss walked, and Kyle Russell reached after being hit by a pitch to load the bases. A wild pitch scored Ynoa, and Luis Nunez followed with a two-run triple to plate Buss and Russell.

The M-Braves got a run back in the bottom of the second. Tim Smith doubled and Joe Leonard singled to put runners at the corners. Keenan Wiley followed with an RBI-single to cut the Lookouts lead to 3-1.

In the third, Cunningham, Christian Bethancourt, and Joey Terdoslavich singled to load the bases. Smith followed with a sacrifice fly to drive in Cunningham and make it 3-2.

Chattanooga's Anthony Jackson led off the fourth with a single. Matt Magill then reached on an error by the catcher. Buss followed with an infield single, and Jackson came in to score on an error by the first baseman, Terdoslavich, to make it 4-2.

Cunningham started the fifth with a single to left field. Terdoslavich walked and Smith reached on an error by the pitcher, thus allowing Cunningham to score and cut the Lookouts lead to 4-3.

The Lookouts added a run in the seventh to extend its lead to 5-3. Russell walked and C.J. Retherford singled. Griff Erickson followed with a sacrifice bunt before Nunez drove Russell home with a sacrifice fly to left field.

Russell launched a solo home run, his ninth blast of the season, extending the Lookouts' lead to 8-3 in the eighth. Chattanooga tacked on another two runs in the ninth to make it 10-3, and the M-Braves were forced to use outfielder Christian Marrero on the mound. He set down both batters that he faced in his professional pitching debut.

Matt Magill (8-4) tossed five frames for Chattanooga. He gave up three runs and two earned runs on eight hits and a walk. He struck out five batters. Sean Gilmartin (5-8) worked three and two-thirds innings for the M-Braves. He gave up four runs and three earned runs on six hits and a walk. He struck out three batters.
