Comedian Hannibal Buress will perform one show at the Vaudeville Cafe in downtown Chattanooga on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m.
Hannibal’s new Comedy Central special, “Hannibal Buress: Animal Furnace,” aired with national acclaim in May. Hannibal is also scheduled to appear on season 3 of ‘John Oliver’s New York Stand-up Show’ airing on Comedy Central.
Currently, Hannibal is a writer for "Saturday Night Live" and was last seen on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and the "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." He's won Time Out magazine's "Funniest Person in Chicago" contest, was a finalist in the "Laugh Across America" contest, one of the Chicago finalists in the NBC "Stand-up for Diversity Showcase" and competed in the Las Vegas Comedy Festival.
Hannibal was a performer in the New Faces showcase at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and was selected to perform on the "Comedy Factory" television show in Holland. While he was a student at Southern Illinois University he hosted his own campus television show "The Hangover" which became a hit among the dorm-dwellers. At 25 he headlined at Zanies in Chicago.”
Hannibal’s appearance is in-line with other celebrity acts that have appeared at the Vaudeville Cafe, following the appearances of Bobcat Goldthwait and Carlos Mencia. The Vaudeville Cafe has been bringing in nationally touring comedians every Friday and Saturday night, spotted with special shows featuring celebrity comedians.
