TheCreativeUnderground (TCU) continues its summer concert series providing an array of different mixtures of musical genres with the July theme, “The Soul of Broadway," on Saturday, July 28.
“Our June installment which paid musical homage to legendary musical icons that have we have recently lost like Donna Summer and Whitney Houston was so well received from the community, yet I believe that this month’s performance will have people literally jumping and shouting out of their seats," said Shane Morrow, director of TCU.
The show will featuring some of Broadway’s show stopping songs from memorable musicals like Dreamgirls, The Color Purple, Porgy and Bess, The Lion King, The Wiz and others performed by an array of community based artists and performers.
“The term Broadway is virtually synonymous with America’s great plays and musicals that have impacted our nation on so many positive levels,” said Mr. Morrow.” I guarantee you that we all know some form of lyrics from a Broadway song, whether or not we want to admit it.”
Eclectic – The Soul of Broadway will be at The Camp House on 1427 Williams Street on Saturday, July 28. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission will be $10.
