Classes will begin soon at the Hamilton County Baptist Association office to teach math and reading to youth and to teach English as a second language. All classes will be taught at the HCBA new offices on the campus of the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, 6625 Lee Highway. Call 267-3794 for more information and to register.
Classes to help parents, grandparents and anyone who wants to help children and youth tutor children and youth in math and reading will be Aug. 18. The class lasts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is a $6 lunch fee. Reading will be taught from 9 a.m to noon and math from lunch until 3 p.m. The classes will be held in the Fireplace Room.
The next classes will be Aug. 17, 18 and 25. These workshops are offered twice a year. The classes are on Friday afternoon from 5-8 p.m. and Saturdays, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Call to reserve a space. These classes will be held in the Chapel area, $37 for two lunches, snacks, materials and texts or free to all volunteers with HCBA.
