Thursday, July 19, 2012
Having had a family business in the city of Soddy Daisy for the span of three decades, I welcome all of the contestants for city judge. We are fortunate to have so many qualified to be judge.

John McDougal lives in the city of Soddy Daisy and has worked in our family business for many years.  He is a graduate of UTC and received his law degree in Nashville.  He has since returned to practice law for the last 18 years.

The past 10 years he has served as a special judge in Hamilton County Sessions Court, Chattanooga City and Red Bank City Court. Please vote in this citywide election.  I recommend John McDougal for Soddy Daisy city judge.

Fairness and impartiality are two of the most important qualifications for a judge. John McDougal embodies both of these characteristics. I have known John McDougal for over twenty-five years, and I can attest to his solid character and moral standards. As a young man, he chose a path vastly different from many of those in his generation. He worked hard and earned the Eagle Scout award, the highest rank in Boy Scouts. As an undergraduate,  he worked his way through school and then proceeded to law school, again working numerous jobs to obtain his law degree.

As a lawyer for 18 years , John McDougal has specialized in criminal law and has many years of experience in both trying cases and judging cases. His experience for ten years as a Special Judge in the Hamilton County Courts System has prepared him for the role of City Judge in Soddy Daisy.

John McDougal is active in his community, church, and has served as a volunteer with the Special Olympics.

Many candidates will have bigger signs and spend obscene amounts of money to get elected but I can assure you that John McDougal, in his quiet and unassuming way, will make a fine judge for the City of Soddy Daisy.  Having a person Of John McDougal’s caliber is a need Soddy Daisy should not ignore.

Questionable Moc Coaching Choices - And Response

David Blackburn proved that he rolled an elder vice chancellor to hire Will Wade. I can't find one game Wade coached. Should we think he is a better coach than the Georgia coach that won the SEC? At least four jobs were open in and around Wade's hometown, Nashville. No one mentioned his name. While Blackburn was preaching in the Chattanoogan Room about the fairness of the ... Clowns - And Response (2)

Back in 1973 Stephen Sondheim wrote a song for a Broadway play he titled Send in The Clowns. It subsequently became popular fare for many artists including Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and others, becoming a popular hit, twice, for '60's activist and protester Judy Collins. I first thought of it as just another boring, elevator music attempt by a former HippyChic to pump up her ... (click for more)

Officials in the Sheriff's Department said a warrant was not obtained early Saturday morning to go inside a house where over 20 allegedly beer-drinking teens were partying because a magistrate said he was about to get off duty and wouldn't wait over. MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Silverdale Baptist Academy Seahawks appeared in their first Class A state baseball tournament game Tuesday afternoon and played liked they had been here before. Notre Dame Falls In State Soccer Tournament

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- After scoring a goal 15 minutes into Tuesday’s TSSAA Class A/AA soccer quarterfinal and holding that lead for the next 23 minutes, Notre Dame felt good about its chances of advancing to the state semifinals. Two plays from White House’s Luis Vital prevented the Irish from doing so. The sophomore scored the equalizer two minutes before halftime, and in ... (click for more)
