Victim Recovered From Nolichucky River Accident

-Search and rescue crews have recovered the body of a victim who went missing after a Saturday morning boating accident on the Nolichucky River in Washington County. 

According to TWRA Officer David Crum, the body of Michael W. Jones, 50, of Jonesborough, was recovered from eight-and-a-half feet of water at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Sunday evening.   Jones was reported missing after a boat he was operating capsized leaving him and his crew of four swimming for safety.  The other occupants of the boat including two children safely made it to shore.

           

A joint effort by members of local search and rescue crews including: Washington County Emergency Medical Services, Washington County Rescue, Embreeville Volunteer Fire Department, Kingsport Life Saving Crew, and Unaka Mountain Search and Rescue, made the body recovery.

Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest.
