Erlanger Offers Classes And Events For July 9-12

The Erlanger schedule of classes and events for July 9-12 includes weight management information, cholesterol screenings and baby care & safety class.  Registration is required. Call Erlanger HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. HealthLink Plus is a free membership program open to adults 18 and older.  

Monday, July 9
Bariatric Support Group
5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Erlanger Chattanooga Lifestyle Center
Bariatric Support Group meetings are for individuals scheduled to have Bariatric surgery or who have already had weight loss surgery.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465) for more information. 

Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Seminar
6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Erlanger Chattanooga Lifestyle Center
Area residents 100 or more pounds overweight and /or with health problems related to obesity are invited to learn more about the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Center at Erlanger.  It is a free seminar and registration is required.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465) to register. 

Baby Care & Safety
6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

With times changing and discharge occurring earlier, “Baby Care” provides you with helpful items on caring for your baby at home.  This class will help you plan and prepare for a safe home environment. Registration fee is $25.  Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at 788-LINK (5465) to register.

Cholestech Lipid and Glucose Screening
8:00 - Noon
Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road)Lipid & Glucose Screening with results while you wait!  A lipid panel will show HDL, LDL, Total cholesterol, non-HDL, cholesterol ratio and triglycerides.  A 12-hour fast is required to produce an accurate result.   No eating or drinking coffee prior to the test, but please drink water the night before and morning of testing. Reservations ARE required, no walk-ins will be taken.  Lipid plus Glucose is $25. Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465) for information. 

Diabetes Education Class
1:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Erlanger Chattanooga Lifestyle Center
This class will explore ways to manage diabetes.  Call 778-9400 for more information on physician referral and insurance reimbursement. 


15th Annual “Food For Life” Conference Is May 31-June 2

Lightning Strike Will Cost Collegedale City Hall Tens Of Thousands

Atwood Gets 9-Year Prison Sentence In Traffic Death Of Friend

A man who police said was traveling 70 miles per hour on a side street in St. Elmo when he wrecked and killed one of his close friends was sentenced Monday to nine years in prison. Location Of The Delta Queen Is The Problem

The Delta Queen is a magnificent part of history and in many ways I'm pleased she is in town. Having the boat where she is is the problem.
