Hunter Safety Classes Announced

Here are upcoming Hunter Safety classes offered by TWRA:

Bradley County –Traditional Class The Cleveland Hunting, Rifle and Pistol Club, 2522 Lead Mine Valley Road SW, Cleveland, TN, will host a Hunter Education Class July 24, 26, 27 from 6 PM to 9 PM and July 28 from 8 AM to finish.  You must be nine years old on or before the first day of class.  Class is limited to 30 students due to space limitations.  Bring your Social Security number.  Call 423-559-1419 from noon to 8 PM to register and for directions.

  Do not bring guns. 

Instructor is John Torchick.

 

Bradley  County – Traditional Class – Cleveland State Community College, 3535 Adkisson Dr., Cleveland, TN 37312,  Monday – Thursday, August 20 –23.  (6:30 – 9:30 p.m.) and live fire on Sunday, August 26 at the Cleveland Hunting, Rifle & Pistol  Club, 2522 Leadmine Valley Rd. S.W., Cleveland, TN 37311  (time to be announced).  You must be nine years of age on or before the first day of class.  Bring social security number and a pencil to class. Must pre-register by calling 423-472-7141 ext. 458 and follow instructions on the automatic message system.  The instructor is Ted Keirn.  Must attend all classes to be certified. 

 

Hamilton County - CD Field Day - Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank TN,  July 21, 2012 @ 9:00 AM Eastern.  You must be nine years of age on or before the first day of class.  Bring social security number and a pencil to class.  Call 423-605-9840 and leave voice mail to register. Hamilton County – Traditional Class – Highland Sportsman Club, 1028 Tsatanuga Trail, Hixson, TN  37343.  Mon., Tues., & Thur., August 6, 7 & 9.  (6:00 – 9:00 p.m.) and Sat., Aug. 11 (9:00 a.m. – finish).  You must be nine years of age on or before the first day of class.  Bring social security number and a pencil to class. Roane County – Traditional Class – Kingston Community Center, 201 Patton Ferry Road.  Monday – Friday, August 6 – 10.  (6:00 – 9:00 p.m.).  Must attend all classes to be certified.  You must be nine years of age on or before the first day of class.  Bring social security number and a pencil to class.  Register the first night of class.  The instructor is Brad Daugherty.

TVA Celebrates National Trails Day With Enhancement Efforts

The Tennessee Valley Authority will be making improvements at six trail locations in Tennessee and Alabama on Saturday, June 1, to celebrate National Trails Day and is encouraging volunteers to participate. Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
