Mike Earl Jones, 60, of Rossville, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012 in a local hospital.

A native of Oneida, Tn., Mike had lived most of his life in the Rossville area and was of the Baptist faith.  He had a passion for fishing and collecting cans and lived life to the fullest.  

His sister, Debbie Cook, preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving mother, Rose Cutshall;  brothers, Billy, Danny, Mark, & Donnie Chambers, all of the Rossville area; several nieces and nephews.

A private service for family will be held later.

Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
