Salvation Army Partners With Nehemiah Project And Chik-Fil-A For Back To School

  • Thursday, July 26, 2012

The Salvation Army and The Nehemiah Project will team together will local churches to deliver over 3000 back packs to local area low income public school students. Every student in eight local Title 1 schools will receive a back pack as a result of these efforts. School supplies are still needed though to make this happen. Chick-Fil-A has stepped forward this year to partner with The Nehemiah Project to be a collection site for these supplies.

According to project co-coordinator, Kelley Andrews, there is a scarcity of notebook paper and crayons. “We have had a variety of supplies donated but we are extremely low on 150 count wide ruled notebook paper and 24 count Crayola crayons,” she said. “All donations can be dropped off at any local Chick-Fil-A store or The Salvation Army’s McCallie Avenue offices before Aug. 4.”
