The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is having its 51st anniversary celebration, Tennessee Valley Railfest ,Sept. 1-2. The Tennessee Valley Railroad is the largest operating historical railroad museum in the Southeast.
A ticket to the Tennessee Valley Railfest includes, live music and entertainment, train rides, demonstrations, petting zoo, arts and crafts, children’s activities, and trains never before seen in the Tennessee Valley. Live entertainment includes Dana Rogers performing folk music and The Lone Mountain Band playing bluegrass on Saturday, Sept. 1. Sunday's Jazz performances are going to be with the Smooth Flight Jazz Mix in the morning and the Mason Dixieland Line in the afternoon. Both days will feature magical wonders from Jaden Maxwell on the Depot Stage in the morning.
Tickets are $30 for an all weekend access pass per person. One day admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children. As a general admission ticket add-on,special roundtrip excursions to Cleveland are also planned for both days leaving at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. Special overnight packages are available at the Chattanooga Choo Choo and can be reserved online at choochoo.com. Free festival parking is available at 4119 Cromwell Road off Jersey Pike. Event hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. both days. The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is a non-profit educational corporation whose mission is to preserve the history of railroading for future generations.
