Spitalny, Williams Earn Spot In Four-Ball Seniors Final

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Neil Spitalny and John Williams advanced to the final here Saturday in the Tennessee Four-Ball Championship at the Cleveland Country Club.

Spitalny and Williams will face Ricky Gregg and Mike Poe in the championship match Sunday AT 8:30 a.m.

In the regular division, four teams remain: Hayden Anderson and Elliott Wickendon; Matt Robertson and Matt Hadden; Austin Garrett and Dustin Thomas; and Ryan Greer and Jack Smith.

Robertson/Hadden will face Garrett/Thomas at 8 a.m. while Anderson/Wickendon will face Greer/Smith at 8:10. The final is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
