Eight teams of entrepreneurs and 11 students, having spent the summer in Chattanooga (Gig City) building next generation apps and businesses using Chattanooga’s 1 Gigabit-per-second fiber optic network, will pitch their ideas to a group of judges and investors from around the country on Aug. 9.
Judges include high-ranking officials from Warner Bros., Alcatel-Lucent, Mozilla, IBM, and others.
The eight teams will pitch for eight minutes each. Five student teams will pitch for five minutes each.
At least $150,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winning teams at the end of the event.
Reggie Bradford, Founder and CEO of Vitrue which sold earlier this year to Oracle, will deliver the keynote presentation.
It will be from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Sheraton Read House Silver Ballroom.
