Farmer, Barbara G. Melton (Cleveland)

Barbara G. Melton Farmer, 68, of Cleveland, TN, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 in a Chattanooga health care facility. 

She was the daughter of the late William English Melton and Nellie Mae Thorne Melton; and was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Silvers. 

She was a very sweet and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Billy G. Farmer Sr. of Cleveland; daughter, Angie Farmer Anderson and her husband Robert of Cleveland; son, Billy G. Farmer II and his wife Kim of Englewood; grandchildren, Lee Farmer and his wife Jessica of Englewood, Bradley Farmer of Englewood and Stephanie Anderson of Cleveland; brothers, Billy Melton of LaGrange, GA and Knox Melton and his wife Mamie of Etowah; sisters, Martha Lou Bowers of Danville, KY, Jeannie Massengill and her husband Gary of Nashville and Alice Melton Jaber of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31 at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, Wildwood Avenue Chapel with Reverend Mike Rymer officiating. 

Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1 at Johnson Cemetery with Lee Farmer, David Williams, Robert Williams, Dave Braden, Doug Bailey and Larry Brown serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Cunningham, Bradley Farmer and Chase Melton.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 31 from 5-8 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, Wildwood Avenue Chapel who is in charge of the arrangements.
