Funeral services are set for a woman killed early Saturday in Cleveland after a head-on collision with a vehicle that had earlier been pursued by police. The fatal wreck happened shortly after 3 a.m. after police said they had pulled back from a pursuit of Dennis Cruz.
Cruz continued at a high rate of speed and slammed into a vehicle driven by Holli Jean Hough, 46. He has been charged with vehicular homicide.
Ms. Hough was employed at the Ramada Inn in Cleveland. She was well-loved and was always the life of the party.
She is survived by her parents, David and Vera Thorne Hough of Cleveland; sons, Lucas Hough and Spencer Hough, both of Cleveland; brother, Mark Hough of Cleveland; sisters, Heidi Baum and Heather Hough, both of Cleveland; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, at Waterville Baptist Church with Pastor Allan Lovelace officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
The family requests that memorials be made in her memory to an account for her sons, Lucas and Spencer Hough at any branch of Southern Heritage Bank.
We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the Hough family guest book at www.grissomfh.net. Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
