Cate, Juanita Denton

Juanita Denton Cate, 61, of Chattanooga died on Tuesday, July 2, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. 

Originally from west Tennessee, Mrs. Cate had lived in the Chattanooga area since 1973. She was a life-long and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, most recently of the Signal Mountain Branch.

Mrs. Cate was preceded in death by her parents, Nannie Mae and R.K. Denton and a brother, Keith D. Denton, all of Gibson County, Tn. 

Survivors include her husband, Paul C. Cate of Chattanooga; son, Brian C. Cate of Red Bank; daughter, Leigh Ann Fuller (and husband, Michael J. Fuller) of Birmingham; grandsons, Jacob M. Fuller and Owen T. Fuller; sisters, Linda Tubbs (and husband, Martin Tubbs) of Kansas City, and Sherri McAlexander (and husband, Bobby McAlexander) of Carroll County, Tn.; brothers, Danny R. Denton (and wife Linda) and Donald D. Denton all of Gibson County, Tn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga. 

A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel with Mr. Eric Ashby presiding. Pallbearers will be John P. Cate, James J. Cate, John W. Cate, Bradley Denton, Andrew McAlexander, and Clifford J. Denton.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Children’s Home/Chambliss Shelter or Hospice of Chattanooga.
