R. J. Cagle, 81, of Dunlap, Tn., died Tuesday, July 3, 2012. 

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunlap, active with the Dunlap Senior Citizens Center, and enjoyed attending the Fredonia Mountain Jamboree. 

He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Cagle; sister, Inez Smith; and four brothers, Avery, Sam, James Cagle and Herman Higgenbottom. 

He is survived by wife, Wanda Austin Cagle; two daughters, Susan (Joe) Rivera, Dearborn Heights, Mich., Barbara (Avon) Hammonds, Lumberton, N.C.; son, Russ (Debbie) Cagle, Dearborn Heights, Mich.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Teresa (Jerry) Carlton and Cynthia (Marvin) Price, both of Dunlap; two step-sons, Ray (Sandi) Austin Jr., Tucson, Az. and Carnel (Nancie) Austin, Dunlap; several nieces and nephews; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5 at 1 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeremy Byrd officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network, Camp Cemetery, 188 Hitchcock Road, Dunlap, TN 37327, or the charity of your choice. 

Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap, where the family will receive friends Wednesday, July 4 from 5-8 p.m. CDT.

William “Bill” Wills Dowdy, 82, died on May 23, at Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, following a very brief illness.
