Scarpitti, Barbarra "Pud" Branam (Cleveland)

Barbara “Pud” Branam Scarpitti, 55, of Cleveland, Tn., died Tuesday July 3, 2012 in a local hospital surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and Julius Branam; grandparents that raised her, Millard and Mary Ratcliff and Fate and Eliza Branam; and a grandson, Lawrence Patterson. 

Mrs. Scarpitti was a 1973 graduate of Bradley Central high school. She went back to college and graduated from Cleveland State Community College with a degree in Medical Coding. She was a former employee with Jackson Manufacturing and was of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Scarpitti; one son, Larry Patterson and his friend Stephanie Whitaker; four grandchildren, Destiny, Autumn, Brooklyn and Cierra Patterson all of Cleveland; three sisters, Brenda Bishop and her husband Thomas Eaves, Donna Paschke and her husband Mike and Priscilla Goodwin and her husband Mike of Cleveland; three aunts, Widdie Morris, Wanda Newton of Cleveland and Jerrie Helton of Toledo, Oh.; one brother-in-law, Tony Scarpitti; two sisters-in-law, Patty Mong, Juanita Cope all of Akron, Oh.; a special niece, Jessica Paschke; one special cousin, Ann Adcock of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rev. Ronnie Ledford, and Rev. Larry Hurbard officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Larry Patterson, James Paschke, Eric Paschke, Christopher Cross, Kevin Chappell, David Fry and Mike Goodwin serving as casket bearers. Mark Mong and David Bishop will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 5 from 3-9 p.m. and all day Friday, July 6 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.


Heuser, Valetta Jean (Rock Spring)

Valetta Jean Heuser, 93, of Rock Spring, died on Monday, May 20, 2013 in a local hospital. James G. “Jaybird” Henderson, Sr., 66, of Chickamauga, died on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at his residence following a three-year battle with cancer. Hayden Lamar Lasley, 60, of Hixson, died on Monday, May 20, 2013.   He was a longtime area girls softball coach for more than 35 years.
