the Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga (YPAC) on Thursday, July 12, from 6-9 p.m. for a civic forum with local candidates at the DoubleTree of Chattanooga’s H20 bar. Participants will be able to meet local candidates running for office and ask questions in a casual, one-on-one setting. The civic forum will be held in place of YPAC’s monthly after hours event.
“With the Hamilton County Republican and Democrat Primaries quickly approaching on Aug. 2 and early voting beginning on July 13, YPAC hopes to encourage young voters to participate in local elections,” said Cara Hicks, president of YPAC. “As part of our mission as a nonpartisan, educational and professional development organization, YPAC hopes to facilitate conversations between local candidates and this constituency.”
Candidates from the TN-03 Congressional District race will each receive five minutes to discuss their platform and issues that are important to young professionals in the area. Other candidates on the ballot are invited to attend to mix and mingle with this key constituency.
Candidates who would like to participate should e-mail Adrienne Royer, YPAC events chair atadrienneroyer@ypchattanooga.org.
YPAC members and non-members are invited to participate. YPAC also thanks the DoubleTree for hosting this event and sponsors, EPB, Decosimo, Northwestern Mutual and Henderson Hutcherson and McCullough.
