Dirty River Bourbon At Nightfall On Friday

Thursday, July 05, 2012

Sounds that range from hard-edged blues to whimsical piano-driven ballads to New Orleans brass will fill Miller Plaza Friday night as Dirty Bourbon River Show make a headlining appearance at the Nightfall Concert Series. Dirty Bourbon River Show will be performing on the River City Stage in Miller Plaza at 8 p.m., following their opening act, The Snake Doctors, who begin at 7 p.m. As always, this Nightfall Concert is free and open to the public.

Forming in 2009, the group has set about stirring up a buzz across the Southeast and Mid- Atlantic. Drawing from a rich diversity of musical backgrounds, they began in American roots music and branched out into folk, rock, blues, jazz, Latin, gypsy, circus, and traditional New Orleans styles.

By 2010, Dirty Bourbon had released two full-length albums as well as an EP, keeping a steady flow of new material to satisfy the masses as they cross the land. Dirty Bourbon spent the second half of 2011 extending the reach of their show further up the Eastern Seaboard and out into the Rocky Mountains.

The local opening act, Snake Doctors is comprised of two musicians that should have met long ago. Introduced to each other in October 2011 by a mutual friend, Snake and Doc hit it off immediately, realizing they shared an uncannily similar repertoire of pre-war blues, ragtime, old-time, and jazz music.

In addition to quality music, Nightfall offers a variety of good food, good drink, and great people at each event. Food will be available from Southern Burger Company, Good Dog, Miller’s Original Lemonades and Repicci’s Real Italian Ice, A Taste of Argentina, Sherpa Tacos, Monkey Town Donut Company, Rock-N-Tacos, Famous Nater’s World Famous and Rita’s Italian Ice of Chattanooga. Corporate sponsors for Nightfall 2012 are Bud Light, Fletcher Bright’s One North Shore, Kelly Cars, River City Company, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Warehouse Row, Big River Grille & Brewing Works, Southern Honda Powersports, Walden Security, The Doubletree Hotel, and UTC, with media support from Fox 61, NPR/Music 88.1 and The Pulse.
