Riverfront Nights Is Now On Demand

Friday, July 06, 2012

Friends of the Festival announced that Comcast will launch an Xfinity On Demand channel for Riverfront Nights Summer Music Series on Thursday. This channel will keep the community informed about this year's Riverfront Nights concert series.

Riverfront Nights will kick off Saturday, Aug. 4, and run weekly through mid-September, taking off only one day on Aug. 25, but people don't have to wait until then to hear music from their favorite Riverfront Nights artists.

Through Comcast's Riverfront Nights On Demand, viewers can learn more about the music series, view the program lineup and listen to a sampling of the artists' music.

"Sometimes you want to learn more about a particular community event, instead of just reading about it online," said Jim Weigert, vice president and general manager of Comcast Chattanooga. "Local On Demand programming gives viewers an integrated way to discover more about local events like Riverfront Nights."

Anchored by Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Tennessee, the summer music series focuses on local people and institutions who promote healthy lifestyles, sustainable development/business practices and an intense love of outdoor recreation. Each Saturday night show brings an eclectic lineup of performers on the 21st Century Waterfront.

New additions to Riverfront Nights include stage sponsor, Zaxby's, bringing exciting, new, or classic-but-coming-back acts to town. This year's festival will also contain an exclusive "VIP" area for our four-legged friends, sponsored by "The Dog Pound," "Do Good Chattanooga" and "Good Dog."

All shows are child and pet friendly, although coolers are not allowed. Doors open and beer sales begin at 6:30 p.m. Music performances start around 7 p.m. and headliners kick off at 8 p.m., playing until 10 p.m.
