Anna Marie Grant, 85, of East Ridge, Tennessee, died on Friday, July 6, 2012 in a local hospital.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1926, to the late Paul E. and Stella D. Hilton in Somerset, Ky. She graduated from Central High School Class of 1944 and attended McKenzie Business School. She worked for many years at Provident and then worked at the family business, A & B Warehouse. She was a longtime resident of East Ridge.  

She was a longtime member of McFarland United Methodist Church and the Anchor of Joy Sunday School Class.  At different times through the years she worked with the children, keeping the nursery and teaching the kindergarten class.  She also loved to do needlepoint and was devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bill Grant.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Sharon Grant of East Ridge and Steve and Teresa Grant of Rossville, one brother, Ed Hilton of Fort Oglethorpe, three grandchildren, J.R. (Melanie) Grant, Nick (Michelle) Grant and McClain (Meredith) Grant, and great-granddaughter, Hala Grant, the first girl grandchild in many years, and devoted niece, Carla Hilton Kirk.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9, at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Reverend Matt Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood South Memory Gardens.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the McFarland United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 8, from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m., and Monday, from 1 p.m. until funeral time in the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the foot of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
