Adriel McCord Joins SunTrust’s Medical Specialty Group In Chattanooga

SunTrust Bank, Eastern Tennessee announced that SunTrust veteran Adriel McCord has joined the company’s Private Wealth Management Medical Specialty Group and will serve the unique needs of physicians and other medical professionals in the Chattanooga area.   

Mr. McCord has been with SunTrust for 12 years most recently serving as a client advisor with the Private Wealth Management team in Knoxville as well as Blount County City president.  Previously, he managed SunTrust’s Foothills Branch.

“I am very pleased to have Adriel leading our Medical Specialty Group in this market, “said Mike Butler, president and CEO, Eastern Tennessee Region.  “His years of banking experience, proven leadership skills and commitment to serving clients and the community will benefit our already-strong Chattanooga team and our region.”

Mr. McCord will relocate to Chattanooga and maintain an office at SunTrust’s Main Office Building at 736 Market Street.

A graduate of Maryville College, Mr. McCord serves on the board of trustees for Maryville College and is the head of the Student Development Committee. He is a board member and Community Impact head for the United Way of Blount County, co-chair of the Blount County Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee, and a past board chair, board member and graduate of Leadership Blount County.


Georgia's Unemployment Rate Drops To 8.1 Percent In April

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the unemployment rate in the Northwest Georgia region declined to 8.1 percent in April, down two-tenths of a percentage point from 8.3 percent in March. Head Of BB&T's Chattanooga Commercial Banking Operations To Plead Guilty To Making Fraudulent Loans

The head of BB&T's Chattanooga commercial banking operations has been charged by federal authorities with making fraudulent loans. Tracy Brown is set to plead guilty to bank fraud on June 4.
