A new generation will experience the timelessness of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in a new PBS show entitled, “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.” Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood will use animated characters from Mister Rogers Neighborhood to teach the same gentle and simplistic lessons of Mister Fred Rogers.
Aired locally on WTCI, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood presents developmentally appropriate content that addresses the social and emotional needs of preschoolers. On Saturday, Aug. 25, from noon to 4 p.m., Creative Discovery Museum will welcome WTCI and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood to the Museum.
Guests will be able to celebrate the animated characters in Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood by participating in activities in the Museum Atrium. At 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., guests can preview the show in the Museum Auditorium. Previews will last approximately 20 minutes.
“A cornerstone of academic success in school is a child’s well being and social emotional adjustment. Fred Rogers understood this need for preschoolers and used it as the basis for his successful television show, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” said Dr. Jayne Griffin, director of Education for Creative Discovery Museum. “Creative Discovery Museum is delighted to partner with WTCI to preview Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.”
Creative Discovery Museum guests can experience Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood on Aug. 25 with paid admission to the Museum. For more information, visit www.cdmfun.org.
