More than 2,000 people gathered to compete in the third annual Chattanooga Mud Run at Greenway Farms in Hixson to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area. Sponsored by Capital Toyota and Toyota of Cleveland, the Mud Run was a 5K-style run featuring a military-style obstacle course with most of the obstacles surrounded by (or consisting entirely of) mud.
The Mud Run is a team based event. Teams were comprised of five participants ages 14 and up.
The Mud Run featured a 3.2 mile course with several obstacles along the way. Teams had to traverse muddy belly crawls, slippery hill climbs, tires, wooden walls, mud pits, and much more. The course was achievable for all competitive levels and was intended for active enthusiasts looking for a unique challenge. Awards were given to the top two teams in the following divisions: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, Best Team Name, Best Costumes, and Highest Fundraiser.
