Senator Bob Corker, R-Tn., will visit Alstom on Wednesday. Senator Corker will tour the facility and speak with employees.
Opened in 2010, Alstom’s Chattanooga facility manufactures turbines, generators and other sophisticated, large-scale equipment for gas, nuclear, coal and hydro power plants.
Senator Corker is the lead Republican sponsor of the Global Investment in American Jobs Act, S. 3274, legislation focused on making the U.S. more effective in competing for investment from top companies around the world like Alstom.
Alstom, a global leader in equipment, services and technology for power generation, rail transportation and power transmission, employs nearly 1,200 people in Tennessee and maintains major operations in Chattanooga and Knoxville.
