Headrick Said She Welcomes Three Debates With Fleischmann

Thursday, August 16, 2012

Dr. Mary Headrick, Democratic candidate for Congress in the 3rd District, Wednesday sent a registered letter to Chuck Fleischmann "accepting the invitation to debate he extended during his election night celebration on Aug. 2."

Stating that the public expects candidates to be willing to state their positions publicly, Dr. Headrick stated, “I read with dismay Scott DesJarlais’ refusal to debate his opponent, Eric Stewart. I am so pleased that in our Third District race, both Chuck and I want the voters to hear us debate the substantive issues."

She continued, “I welcome a series of three debates as proposed by Rep. Fleischmann. I think issue-oriented debates and forums between opposing candidates are an excellent information resource
for voters.”
