A SWAT Team was called out Thursday afternoon to a residence on Short Tail Springs Road, but no one was found to be inside.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disorder call at 6917 Short Tail Springs Road around 12:30 p.m. When deputies arrived, they were informed by the victim she had been assaulted by Edward Romines. The victim stated Romines would not let her leave the residence.
After Romines fell asleep, the victim was able to leave the residence with her small child.
Deputies made several attempts to make contact with Romines. Deputies believed Romines to be barricaded inside the residence and did not know if he had weapons.
The Hamilton County SWAT Team and hostage negotiators responded to the scene. After numerous attempts to make contact with Romines, SWAT made entry into the residence and no one was located.
Warrants have been issued for Edward Eugene Romines for simple assault (domestic), child endangerment and false imprisonment.
Romines is described as a white male, approximately 5’10" with brown hair and hazel eyes.
He has previous arrests in Hamilton County for simple assault (domestic), failure to appear, probation violation, theft of property, vandalism, criminal impersonation, and filing false reports.
