Wheeler, Angela Lee Wilder

Sunday, August 19, 2012

Angela (Angie) Lee Wilder Wheeler was called home on Saturday morning, August 18, 2012 in Clear Lake, Texas. After a long battle with gastric cancer and then suffering from unrelated complications recently, she was surrounded by her husband, three children and their spouses, and her grandchildren as she left peacefully .

Angie was born October 7, 1949 to Robert and Wanda Wilder in Asheville, North Carolina. She grew up in Chattanooga, attended Brainerd High School where she graduated in 1967. She moved to Texas in 1979. In 2005 she was wed to Cleveland Wheeler and resided on Signal Mountain for a short time then returned to the Houston area where both resided in League City. She was a member at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

While living in Houston, she worked at Transco Energy and BP and then moved into hospital administrations where she also worked at MD Anderson in the office of the President for the better part of a decade

She is survived by her husband, Cleve Wheeler, her parents, Robert and Wanda Wilder of Chattanooga, her sisters Janice, Sandra and brother Johnny, her three children, Stephanie Bolyard, Thomas Osborne, and Robert Kline, and her four grandchildren Megan Bolyard, Haleigh Bolyard, Alexandra Bolyard, and Emma Kline.

She never allowed her grandchildren to call her any other name but “Angie” as she felt too young and spirited to be a typical grandmother. They affectionately called her Angie and explained to their friends that their grandmother was just young and fun.

She will be remembered for her unyielding selflessness, her amazing faith and strength in God, and her eternally youthful attitude. She instilled those values in her family and she is honored for that as they carry on her legacy.

A memorial service for Angie will be held August 20, 2012 at Gloria Dei Luitheran Church in Nassau Bay, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her memory be sent to Cancer Treatment Centers of America. http://www.cancercenter.com/about-us/contributions.cfm
