New Hamilton County Democratic Party Headquarters Open For Election Night

Thursday, August 02, 2012

The new Hamilton County Democratic Party headquarters will stay open Thursday night for anyone wanting to watch election returns on a big screen. The HCPD has moved its headquarters to a building on the corner of Main and Central on the Southside, affording the organization increased visibility and accessibility, party leaders announced. They said election night is the perfect opportunity to showcase the new location.

“Our former headquarters at Market and Main had no visibility from the street,” said HCDP Chairman Paul Smith.

“At the new location, we will place easily recognizable signs, and that intersection gets lots of traffic all day long.” Mr. Smith also said that the area is part of the rapidly expanding Main Street revival, with new businesses opening and announced frequently.

“This office is still centrally located for people coming downtown, and close to an exit off the 24 freeway,” Mr. Smith said. “And symbolically, in such an important election year, what could be more relevant than the Democratic Party on Main Street, closer and more accessible to more people? We are, and have always been, on Main Street, not Wall Street.”

The party’s office phone number (423 266-4125) will remain the same, as will the mailing address, P.O. Box 4090, Chattanooga, Tn. 37405, and email address, hcdp.tn@gmail.com.
