In a District 28 House election pitting two sitting legislators against one another as a result of redistricting, JoAnne Favors finished far ahead of Tommie Brown.

Mike Carter, former General Sessions Court judge and assistant county attorney, was the only contender for the redesigned House District 29. He got 5,576 complimentary votes.
