What a way to sway the election and a dishonorable win of the primary for Mr. Gardenhire by the accusations made and published one day prior to the election of candidate Greg Vital by the Times Free Press.
This was an unfortunate use of power of the press, even though it was indicated that “there were more accusations than proof”, the seed of doubt was planted and it certainly took root. Your mission was accomplished unashamedly exuding your power and throwing numerous votes to the opponent and depriving Tennessee of an excellent leader who would have served us well in the Senate.
Mr. Vital was indeed the most qualified candidate for the position, a business man with a vision who has served his community well for many years. This political sabotage deserves justice, may it be served to those deserving of.

I do not know the gentleman who wrote this article but he sure nailed it for the truth. As far as I am concerned there is no more integrity at all in this new editor.
I for one thought an editor was supposed to be a strong minded individual that could not be persuaded by outside sources. That being one Todd Gardenhose.
There is no doubt that the article was extremely damaging to Greg Vitals chances. Who knows, maybe Mr. Vital would have lost anyway but I doubt it very seriously. This was dirty, mudslinging politics at its worse.
I have never read an editorial retraction of a candidate that was so horrible. Matter of fact, I have never seen an retraction right before a important election like this one, ever.
This will more than likely be forgotten, but I hope someone honest with the Times Free Press looks very carefully into this matter. There seems to be a snake in the grass and it needs to be “caught."
