Local Artists And Performers Unite For Eclectic Concert Finale

  • Tuesday, August 21, 2012

TheCreativeUnderground will wrap up their Eclectic Summer Series on Aug. 31 at The Camp House, located downtown on 1427 Williams St., with its final performance called “Unconventional Soul.”  This final installment will feature a montage of different musical and visual elements that reflect Chattanooga’s diverse culture.

“We have really been on the grind to present, I believe, some of the best performance showcases by a talented range of local performers and artists,” says Shane Morrow, director of TheCreativeUnderground, a community arts performance initiative. “The response from the community has been fantastic and very much appreciated.”

TheCreativeUnderground’s Eclectic Series was created to feature different mixtures of musical genres, from soul to country, paying homage to the original artists as well as bringing forth an array of local individuals to the stage.  All performers and visual artists featured are all from the Chattanooga area.

This month will also feature a temporary art gallery showcasing the works of local visual artists, Jody Rahlow Harris, Nathaniel Stepney and James McKissic.  “The goal for this series is to bring together our community through the power of the arts. This last performance will feature music ranging from the sounds of Elvis, Patsy Cline to Amy Winehouse.  It is truly an Eclectic performance that has something for everyone.”

Doors will open at 8 p.m. with the performance beginning at 8:30 p.m.  Admission is $10 and payable at the night of event.
