Procession Planned For Funeral Of Fire Captain Who Died At St. Elmo Fire Hall

A funeral procession is planned on Friday for Chattanooga Fire Department Captain Roulos Davis, who collapsed and died at the St. Elmo Fire Hall on Monday at the age of 49.

The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. at the New Covenant Fellowship Church at 1326 N. Moore Road.

After the service, at approximately 2 p.m., the procession will begin with a Chattanooga Police Department escort and Quint 14, the apparatus Capt. Davis was assigned to in recent years. The procession will head south on N. Moore Road and then head west on Brainerd Road until it reaches Holtzclaw Avenue. It will turn left (south) on S. Holtzclaw and travel a short distance to the entrance to National Cemetery.

Along the procession route, various emergency vehicles will be blocking intersections, with their personnel standing at attention. At the entrance to National Cemetery, two ladder trucks will have their aerials extended upward and crossing each other, with an American flag hanging underneath.

The service at National Cemetery will start at 2:30 p.m. The military service will include bagpipes, a 21-gun salute, taps, the presentation of flags and a helmet, and a fly over by Life Force Air Medical.
