Police said a report of a possible dead body in a wooded area off Lightfoot Mill Road turned out to be a false alarm.
Officers did locate what had the appearance of a body covered by a sheet.
A closer inspection showed a railroad tie with a sheet over it and a case of drinks at the other end.

Ted Rumley said he was inside C&B Market on Dodson Avenue making a drink delivery when a customer told him he had just been robbed.
The patron said an older black man lifted two 12 packs of Old English beer.
The loss to Carter Distributing was put at $23.28.

Cynthia Rice of Vine Street reported finding several young people (she thought UTC students) in her back yard.
A Chattanooga Police officer was summoned and found two females and a male near a tree with some chimes hanging from it. They said they were taking part in a school project involving chimes.
Ms. Rice said she was also going to report the intrusion to UTC officials.

Theresa Taylor of Techwood Avenue came home and found the back door open.
Someone had gone through her drawers and had taken a box of costume jewelry.

FSG Bank officials said Lance Martin Kelley was in the bank trying to open an account by depositing three checks totaling $922 on a Bank of America account of Jeremy Ownby.
Bank officials said they had gotten an alert that Kelley was opening similar accounts at other banks in town.
They said he intended to return the next day and withdraw the money.
Kelley, 29, was charged with identity theft. Police said other charges were likely.

Rose Wiley said she and her husband, Alfred Wiley, have been arguing.
She said she was sitting on the couch in the midst of a spat and Alfred picked up the couch - with her still on it.
She told an officer she is tired of arguing and is trying to get a divorce.
Alfred said he just wanted to go to work.
