Mitch McClure Speaks On "Working Together Works Best" On Sunday

Tuesday, August 28, 2012
Middle Valley Church of God, at 1703 Thrasher Pike in Hixson, continues its adopted theme for 2012, "Involving Ourselves in 2012."  This theme will guide all ministry efforts.

In conjunction with this theme, Pastor Mitch McClure will continue a new series of sermons titled, "It's Rough Out There" on Sunday. He will speak on the topic "Working Together Works Best" in the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday.

Pastor McClure said, "There are many today who seem to specialize in working against others.

It seems their 'calling' is to divide. The church must follow the example given by Jesus to work with others.  Unity in effort will provide a much better opportunity for success in the church than being divided.  The church must lead the way in working to accomplish the goals established by Jesus Christ. I believe the church has the greatest opportunity to minister in 2012 more than any other time in history.  Our challenge is to accept what God has called us to do."

The church will offer an opportunity of a fellowship meal at the conclusion of the 10:30 a.m. service on Sept. 2, in the church Family Life Center.  All are invited to participate in this meal.

Middle Valley Church of God continues community ministry since 1946.  For additional information, please contact Pastor Mitch McClure at 423 843-1539.

Location Of The Delta Queen Is The Problem

The Delta Queen is a magnificent part of history and in many ways I'm pleased she is in town. Having the boat where she is is the problem. The boat blocks the view of and from the prettiest park in our town. The crew take many of the parking spots around the park leaving families to park across Frazier and schlep their kids, strollers and picnics to the park. You don't get fireworks ... (click for more)

Aimee Copeland reached for a potato chip and, with a pretty smile, popped it into her mouth and crunched it up. Last May ... (click for more)
