Labor Day Weekend Events For Chattanooga Market

This weekend there are several opportunities to visit one (or more) of Chattanooga Markets public markets and events: 

Ringgold Market:  Saturday, 8-11 a.m. 
The Ringgold Market offers farm fresh produce, meats, cheeses and a small selection of handmade crafts.  Located in the heart of downtown Ringgold at the Catoosa County Courthouse, this market has a very local feel, free parking and an opportunity to meet local farmers.

Chattanooga River Market: Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza 
Free yoga at 10 a.m. on the Riverfront and 40 plus artists and craftsmen offering unique one-of-a-kind artistry. This Saturday marks the end of the season for the River Market but it will continue early Spring of 2013.  Live music is Julie Gribble at 12:30. 

Night Market: Saturday, 5-9 p.m. at the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza  
The evening hours bring live music at 5:30 p.m. by Jeff Miller as well as a beautiful lit up backdrop along the Riverfront to enjoy a stroll among evening vendors showcasing their artisan goods.

Chattanooga Market: Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the First Tennessee Pavilion   
Sunday features the annual Hot Rod and Cruise In event where car hobbyists and enthusiasts will enjoy the showing of hot rods, classics, antiques and more. Live music at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. by the KZ106 Stratoblasters.  

Arts In The Park Festival: Monday, Labor Day, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in Collegedale at Veteran's Park
A community showing of regionally hand-picked artists offering their goods for sale.  Live music, food and plenty of family fun.  A county wide art contest showcases works of local middle and high school students.  Prizes are awarded to those schools earning first place.  ArtsInTheParkFestival.com


World Refugee Day Open House Is Thursday

A World Refugee Day open house will be held Thursday from 12-4 p.m. at Bridge Refugee Services, 4791 A Hal Dr.  World Refugee Day, observed June 20 each year, was established by the United Nations to honor the courage, strength and determination of women, men and children who are forced to flee their homes under threat of persecution, conflict and violence. Claude Ramsey To Retire As Deputy To The Governor

Westfield Gives Emotional Testimony About Fatal Shooting Of Friend Bernard Hughes; Niece Of Police Captain Denies She Set It Up

An emotional Timothy Westfield on Wednesday told a Criminal Court jury how he was shot and how his friend Bernard Hughes was murdered almost three years ago at the British Woods Apartments.
