Taste Of Northshore Set For Oct. 18

Northside Neighborhood House’s upcoming fall fundraising evening event will be held on Thursday, Oct.18, from 6-9 p.m. at Track 29.  Taste of Northshore – Sample of Southside & the Not-So-Silent Auction is an evening filled with urban sophistication, culinary delights and exuberant live entertainment. 

“This unique fundraiser helps Northside Neighborhood House provide a hand up through our education and direct assistance programs,” says Rachel Gammon, executive director of Northside Neighborhood House.  “We are meeting our neighbors’ needs with the most basic forms of assistance like utility payments and emergency food while also working through budgeting to enable them to be better prepared for future ‘bumps in the road’.  Children and adults are also receiving the support they need to thrive and be successful through our education programs.” 

At the event, guests will savor samples of some of Chattanooga’s eateries, cafés, restaurants and bakeries while taking part in the silent auction.  Next guests will engage in Northside Neighborhood House’s live auction.  

Participating restaurants include:  212 Market Restaurant, A Taste of Argentina, Alice's Catering, Aquarium Foods Catering, Belle's Cupcakes, Bluewater Grille, Brewhaus German American Pub, Café on the Corner, Clumpies Ice Cream Co., Dipped Fresh, Easy Bistro, FoodWorks, Fork & Pie Bar, Hennen's, Impressions Catering, Lee Towery Catering, Lupi's Pizza Pies, Market Street Tavern, On The List Catering, Poblano's Mexican Bar & Grill, Porter's Steakhouse, Public House, Southern Burger Co., Southern Star, St. John's Restaurant, Subway - Frazier Avenue, The Big Table, Tremont Tavern, and Vine Street Market

 Tickets for the event are $55 per person.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.nnhouse.org or contact the Northside Neighborhood House at 267-2217.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their competitive spirits and get ready to bid on incredible items offered during the live interactive auction.

Federal Agents Seize Almost $6.8 Million From Bank Accounts Of Physician; Says He Has Submitted False Medicare Claims

Federal authorities have seized almost $6.8 million from bank accounts of an area physician. They said Dr. Raymond Sean Brown has submitted false Medicare claims. Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Terry Releford

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case. Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."
