Grand Jury Indicts Soddy Daisy Woman In $300 Murder For Hire

Thursday, August 30, 2012

The Hamilton County Grand Jury has indicted a Soddy Daisy woman for seeking to hire someone to get rid of a woman "who was having an affair with her old man."

The indictment is against 54-year-old Sharon Anna Zurconett. It charges one count of solicitation to commit first-degree murder. Ms. Zurconett was taken into custody at her home in Soddy Daisy when she was arrested in late April.

Police said the month-long investigation revealed that she was attempting to have a local woman killed for personal reasons.

Walter Hogeland, 65, told police "he had been contacted about setting up a murder."

He said he did not know much about what Ms. Zurconett wanted, so officers asked him to set up a meeting with her on April 13 and get details. Police said during that meeting Ms. Zurconett said she wanted Celestea Figueroa, 51, to be gotten rid of due to the alleged affair.

Ms. Zurconett said she had $300 to pay and could get more money in two weeks if necessary.
