Fox, Buford Adolphus (Trion)

Buford Adolphus Fox, 87, of Trion, GA, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Rome, GA.

Mr. Fox was born May 23, 1925 in Collinsville, AL, the son of the late Daniel A. Fox and Beulah Drake Fox. He was retired from Mohawk Industries. Mr. Fox was a servant of God and a faithful member of Dry Valley Baptist Church. He was former choir director for 32 years. He also served on the deacon board and as chairman of the deacon board. He had 38 years of perfect attendance in the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Fox.

Mr. Fox is survived by his wife of 67 years, Maggie Fox; sons and daughters-in-law, Buford Lee and Maria Fox, David Russell and Holley Fox; grandchildren, Melissa Adams, Todd Fox, Andrea Fox, Victoria Hawk, Danny Fox and David Fox; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 1, at Dry Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Barry Woods, Mike Woods, Hoyt Ballinger, Johnny Lee, Steve Morrison, John Dykes and Sammy Tapp. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Men’s Sunday School Class of Dry Valley Baptist Church.

Mr. Fox will be in state at Mason Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 31.
