Here are the upcoming events at Shuptrine's Gold Leaf Designs:

September -November 

Exhibiting new paintings in the North Gallery.   FEMME.  A collaboration of talent by Nationally awarded artists  Maggie Siner, and Robert Calcagno, layering on several American Artists with their inspirations of FEMME.  Femininity , elaborating the female figure and dresses,  romantic paintings and intimate settings.  All mediums partaking in  whimsical colors.  FEMME runs into November .  Artist and Open House Reception Sept. 8. 

Saturday, Sept. 8

A Gallery Hop event. 

2-8 p.m.- as Shuptrine's Gold Leaf Designs will be having it's opening reception throughout the galleries.   During the event , hosted by NIKOS and Carter Distributing, Shuptrine's will be  showcasing handmade and gold leaf frames, with gilding demonstrations from 2-6 p.m.  Exhibits include works of art by Alan Shuptrine in the South Galleries.  North Galleries will highlight several new artists, award winning Maggie Siner, Robert Calcagno, and acrylics from award winning North Carolinian artist Karen K. Brown.  The gallery's new FEMME exhibit will showcase femininity in its most lavish form, celebrate the female figure, romantic paintings of frocks, intimate settings, and whimsical colors.  Join us for hors d'oeuvres and a glass of wine from 4-8 p;m.

Thursday, Sept. 20

The gallery will host the first Fall Sketch night, now in our North Gallery amid works of art.  Get inspired by our FEMME exhibit, and paint away. Themes ranging from romantic French inspired works, to the lushes female form.  5-8 p.m., Bring own drink and snack and enjoy.  $15 per artist. Reservations Required :

President Roosevelt’s Tree Army Presentations Are June 1-2

Street Closings Announced For The Weekend

ML King Boulevard between Market Street and Georgia Avenue and Market Street between East 8th Street and ML King Boulevard will be closed from 5:30 p.m.-midnight on Friday, for the Nightfall Concert Series.  The 800 block of Cherry Street will be closed at ML King Boulevard and will only be accessible from East 8th Street. Feds Dismiss Criminal Charges Against Rarity Developer Mike Ross

Federal authorities have dismissed an indictment against Mike Ross, the developer of a floundering Rarity Club project at Nickajack Lake in Marion County. The Maryville developer was charged last November with mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering. Head Of BB&T's Chattanooga Commercial Banking Operations To Plead Guilty To Making Fraudulent Loans

The head of BB&T's Chattanooga commercial banking operations has been charged by federal authorities with making fraudulent loans. Tracy Brown is set to plead guilty to bank fraud on June 4.
