Access America Transport Opens Location In San Antonio

Tuesday, August 07, 2012

Access America Transport, a third-party logistics company, has opened a new location in San Antonio, Tx. The Texas office is being opened to focus on the produce segment of Access America’s customer portfolio. Access America Transport is one of the nation’s fastest growing third party logistics providers. The 2012 sales are expected to double to more than $400 million, officials said.

The opening of the company’s ninth office will serve as the focal point for Access America Transport’s continued expansion into the produce and refrigerated market. “Refrigerated freight has been our fastest growing modes over the past two years,” said CEO Ted Alling. “We believe the addition of a South Texas location that is heavily focused on the produce market will dramatically expand our footprint in this area. There are thousands of produce shippers nationwide and we have long sought a greater presence in Texas.”

Josh Kellett will lead AAT’s Texas expansion. Mr. Kellett comes to Access America after spending the last six years working for a produce broker and also working in a similar non-asset capacity with a logistics provider. Mr. Kellett is a 2002 graduate of Samford University in Birmingham where he played college football prior to a stint in the arena football league.

Access America Transport is a third-party logistics company based in Chattanooga. The company operates nine locations and specializes in truckload, less-than-truckload, and supply chain management services. The company is ISO 9001:2008 certified and SmartWay approved.
