YPAC Signature Event: A Southern Soiree

The Young Professional Association of Chattanooga will host its sixth annual signature event on Aug.18. The theme of this year’s event is Southern Soiree and will be held at Chattanooga’s premier private party venue, Lindsay Street Hall, beginning at 7 pm. The Chattanooga community is invited to come out and participate in one of YPAC’s most anticipated social events of the year.

Southern Soiree offers young professionals and other community residents and leaders a fun-filled night that promises to be distinctly Chattanooga, organizers said. The evening will include music from Sound Force Entertainment, southern cuisine and the camaraderie of Chattanooga’s young professional community.

Individual pre-sale tickets are currently available and may be purchased at: https://ypchattanooga.org/events/2012/8/18/southern-soiree Tickets are $25 for YPAC members, $35 for non-members and $40 at the door. After Aug. 11, tickets will be $40 for both members and non-members. Event is 21+; ID is required for entry.

The price of the ticket includes two drinks and heavy hors d’oeurves. A cash bar will be available

Dog Fighting Operation Uncovered On Talledega Avenue

TBI was executing a narcotics search warrant at 6302Talladega Ave. in Chattanooga on Friday and uncovered a dog fighting operation. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
