Dr. Hal Hill "Strongly Denies" Allegations Of Wife Poisoning; Hires Attorneys Lee Davis And Bryan Hoss

Defense Team To Do Own Investigation; Contacts Law Enforcement, Prosecutors

Wednesday, August 08, 2012

Dr. Hal Hill, whose wife accused him in an application for an order of protection of poisoning her, has hired the same defense team who represented the husband of Gail Palmgren.

He "has sought the assistance of attorneys Lee Davis and Bryan Hoss to respond to allegations raised by his wife, Liesa Hill," attorney Davis said.

He added, "Because Ms. Hill and her attorney have made false reports to the media, we feel obligated to respond. Dr. Hill strongly denies all allegations of any alleged misconduct toward his wife.  We welcome a full and fair investigation.

"Today we have contacted the Lookout Mountain Police, Hamilton County Sheriff's Department and the District Attorney's office and requested a meeting. We have offered our cooperation and assistance in gathering facts in this matter.

"I think law enforcement and the community are aware of how a hasty, media-fueled investigation can sometimes lead to an unfair and wrong conclusion. Just look at the mistakes and false accusations generated by the tragic Palmgren investigation of a year ago.

"While law enforcement does their job, we will be conducting our own investigation to respond to the allegations raised by Liesa Hill and her lawyer."

The couple live on Fairy Trail on Lookout Mountain, Tn.

Ms. Hill asserted in the order of protection application that she saw her husband putting something in her morning coffee. She said she had it tested and it contained the dangerous chemical barium.

Circuit Court Judge Marie Williams signed the order of protection.

No divorce has been filed in the matter.

Roy Exum: Hypocrisy And Horses

I am still wincing over the fact a horrendous bill passed in the state legislature that would make whistle-blowers into criminals would have actually gone into law had it not been for Governor Bill Haslam’s eleventh-hour veto. Called the “Ag-Gag bill,” similar efforts in other states have also soured because it is no more than a Catch-22 trick to protect those who abuse animals, ... (click for more)
