Tennessee Aquarium – One Broad Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402
Age-appropriateness: All
Admission fee: Adult: $24.95; Child (3-12) $14.95
Is advance registration required? No
Brief description of event/activities: Somewhere within the waters of the new River Giants exhibit lurks a catfish with a man-eating reputation. The wallago has a mouth full of teeth, eel-like body and the face of a bulldog. Native to Southeast Asia, wallago are known as voracious predators that reach lengths of eight feet in the wild. The Aquarium has two of these “monster fish.”

Fear-less, not fear-some, would best describe a creature of the night that is featured in Ranger Rick’s Backyard Safari. “Velcro,” a Southern flying squirrel makes frequent appearances in this gallery along with other creepy, crawly and cool animals.

With more than 10,000 animals in the Aquarium’s two buildings, October is a great time to see costumed SCUBA divers and meet some of the world’s most feared, and sometimes misunderstood, creatures. Aquarium experts are ready to set the record straight about the “killer reputations” of these creepily cool critters and other “beasties” during special feedings and themed keeper talks. Have fun getting closer to the hauntingly fun side of the natural world!

Scandals At Home And Abroad

Since my hip operation and time in recovery, I have tried to set aside things that are insignificant to me and to average Americans. Don't get me wrong here. What these people are doing (Bengahzi) is despicable be they left or right wing, and they have been doing it (both sides) for a long time. But the dirty deeds themselves carry little weight as to what they mean to you or me. ... (click for more)
